How Landing Pages Affect Conversion Rates

Landing Pages has the main purpose of converting your visitors into potential customers. Most companies prefer to use Landing Pages since they pay for their traffic so every visitor counts. Landing Pages can either be a separate website or a web page from your domain in which any ad or search engine result is linked to, it is not advisable to have those links connected to your Home Page because your visitor’s might feel mislead.

Basically you must provide your visitors with what they are looking for and them persuade them to either register/buy/avail what you offer, there are many different styles on doing so. But bear in mind that it doesn’t sound as easy as it looks, many companies are willing to pay so much money just to have a great Landing Page yet only few were successful in doing so.

Keyword is one of the important factors in link building, link building is also an important factor when creating a successful Landing Page. Hence is the statement of Google itself, since they determine what factors affects Page Rankings and the success of every Landing Page or website on the search engine:

“There is no one specific formula to determine the quality of a landing page or website. On a case-by-case basis, we will evaluate the content, structure, and navigation of a website. Keep in mind, the most relevant landing pages will include a substantial amount of content that is highly relevant to not only your choice of keywords, but also to your ad text”

“The best way to figure out whether your keyword, ad, or landing page is relevant and useful is to put yourself in the shoes of a user. Do your ad and landing page include language that makes sense in the context of the keywords you have chosen? For example, if you have selected the keyword ‘hiking shoes,’ have you made sure that your ad mentions hiking shoes or related name brands? Does your landing page actually offer the name brands you mentioned, along with detailed information about this shoe type?”

“Targeting your keywords, ads, and landing pages in this way likely will lead to several positive results. ou gain the trust of your customers and therefore keep them coming back to your site. You will also minimise the money spent on clicks from users who might not be interested in what your website offers. And finally, you can increase your overall Quality Score and lower the minimum bid necessary for your ad to appear.”

In relation to what Google said in the previous statements, here are some factors to be considered upon creating a successful Landing Page Template that will ensure your conversion:

Brevity
Avoid having long Paragraphs, each should only have two to three lines at maximum. Font size and styles should also be considered, make sure that they are readable and has the right color in accordance to your Landing Page Templates style. Keep them unison and to the point.

Relevancy
Make sure that your Landing Page is relevant to what your visitors are looking for, bear in mind that your goal is to provide the information your visitors seek. Give them what they only needed to know. Your ads must be in contrast with your keywords so that Google can also recognize them and put you where you belong.

Plan your Attack
Conduct a research and come up with the best approach on how to deal with your visitors, this varies on every Landing Page based on what they offer and what their initial goal is. One of the best practice is to have Bullet lists that contain your product/services strong points to entice your visitor to read more of what you offer.

A Call-to-Action
This is the big button that tells the visitor what you want them to do, make sure that it is noticeable and informative. Avoid having “Click Here” and instead replace them with a short description of what will happen upon clicking the button or link.

Stick with the Facts
Do not use too much flowery words, state what your products can do and never lie in terms of what it can’t do. Honesty is the best policy.

Persuasion
Be persuasive to a tolerable extend, do not over do things. Good and Proper persuasiveness can lead to sales, and Too Much or Wrong can lead to Irritation which leads to your visitor quickly leaving your Landing Page with an angry and dis-satisfied face.

Keep it User Friendly
Make sure that your Landing Page is easy to digest, keep it simple enough to understand. Not everyone would have enough patience or to give some of their precious time just to fully understand your terms and how your Landing Page works.

Improve Credibility
Have a section where you can put up Testimonials, Customer Support Section, Guarantee Seals, and Certifications. Always remember that if you can’t gain the trust of your visitor, you won’t be able to get them to buy your product/service.

Aesthetics
Remember that how your Landing Page looks can also affect your conversion rate, a professional looking and well maintained web page will most likely be able to convert more visitors than a run down and crappy looking one. Make sure that it is neat enough to entice your visitors to check out what you offer.

Have it Proof-Read
Provide a copy of your content and have it proof-read, this will ensure that your grammar is correct. You won’t be able to persuade customers to buy what you offer if you can’t express yourself in the right way using the right words.

Scheduled Maintenance and Updates
Have a schedules maintenance in order to check if your Landing Page is performing as it should be. Always update your content so that it goes in contrast with what your promos and special offers are. Remove those links that are no longer working, and always check the main ones.

Almost every e-commerce website has a landing page, it is the web page which is first seen upon clicking links from other websites, banners, or ads. Basically one must optimize this page because it has the unique ability to turn a plain visitor to a customer or a customer to just a plain visitor, depending on how well it is optimized. Obviously we want to convert every visitor to become a customer because it will surely increase our income. Optimizing or Optimization is the process that makes something to perform in its full potential, or 100% effectiveness. By saying you have an optimized Landing Page, it means you have a Landing Page which can convert any visitor into a potential customer and we all know that Customers are the heart of every business, and Customers equates to income.

Here is a list of tips which will help you Optimize your Landing Page:

Knowing who your visitors are
It is very important to first know who are the ones visiting your site, put yourself in their place, understand their needs/desires, fears/concerns, and motivations. Take time to evaluate and understand them all, then device a plan in order to deal with these factors and make sure that everyone finds out what they are looking for on your site.

What sets you apart from any other products available in the market
( your product/service weakness and strengths )
It certainly is a bad habit to badmouth your competitors, but in a competitive market you can always point out the difference and strengths of your product against any other existing products available in the market. Here are some questions that can help you in doing so:

1. Why should your customers choose your product or service?
2. Why should your customers choose your company over other companies?
3. What are the top five reasons that cause your customers to buy your product or service?
4. What are the top five reasons which stop customers from buying your product or service?
5. How much money are customers willing to spend in a single purchase?
6. What timeframe does it usually take for a customer to place an order?
7. Is your product easy to explain and use or is it complex?

Choosing the right Color Scheme and Images

Appearance is always a big factor in almost anything, so in your Landing Page it is wise and effective to maintain a Color Scheme which will be visible in the majority of your Ads, Banners, and your Web Site itself. Most people disregard the URL and just mermorizes the Color pattern seen on an Ad they clicked which causes them to leave immediately if they were redirected to a website with a different Color pattern. Images and overall Design also play a big role, having a good appealing website also attracts or even makes every visitor stay a little longer thus allowing them to browse more of your websites content.

Make sure that your visitors find what they are looking for

Reputation is earned, and making sure that every visitor that goes to your site leaves happily and contented will surely improve your Reputation. Avoid misleading contents, and make sure that you comply with their demand in the shortest time and hassle free as possible. Most visitors are not patient enough to search for everything on your site, so it is your duty to make sure that the information they are looking is available for them in an instant.

Consistency

This is quite similar to the Color Scheme principle. Basically when a customer clicks a Vacuum Cleaner Ad having a Tall Brunette model holding the Vacuum Cleaner that visitor expects to see the same Tall Brunette model holding the Vacuum Cleaner on the Landing Page he/she gets redirected to.

Simple and Clean

Do not crowd your website with too much banners and ads as though it looks like a public market, always remember that simple and clean looks good, precision on content is the best policy. It is also wise to check up how heavy is your site, how long does it take to load, because having too much graphics can really slow down the loading time and most customers are not willing to wait for any website that takes too long to load up.

Gaining their trust

Transactions in the internet are always risky, so most people are afraid to have a transaction with people they do not know. It is your duty to assure them that they can trust you. That they are safe, that their information won’t be leaked out. The most effective way to do so is to have your site secured and accredited, earn seals and post them so that customers can see that your site can be trusted and credible enough to transact with. It also helps to have even the simplest sentence of assurance which guarantees your clients security and privacy.

Testimonials

Another good way to earn every visitors trust is to have a Testimonials section in which previous customers can give feed back to either their experience upon doing a transaction with your or upon using the product which they bought. You just have to make sure that they make it concise and on point. It will also be helpful if the testimonials include personal information such as a full name, address, email address, or even a photo of previous client, this way the testimonial will be credible enough for other potential customers to see. Video Testimonials are also getting famous nowadays and it has been proven to be more credible and trustworthy.

Landing Pages and Minisite Designs

It’s been a while since I last posted and I would like to give you some updates and hopefully some freebies for taking the time to visit the site. For all you know, I live in the Philippines and its pretty rough out here when everything starts at zero once again. For almost a week our house was submerge under flood waters. Lost many days of work, no internet, no electricity, no food and water and the cleanup just got started.
